Symantec has put Microsoft on the target since the software giant got considerably into the active market of computer security, an event that would leave most antivirus creators without a livelihood. It is logical then that these designers show their discontent.

On the other hand, Symantec’s recommendation to go over to Mac OS X results rather contradictory from the business point of view, as Mac platform is not so prone to viruses and worms like Windows, and this fact would also reduce the company’s work in their labour to face up to the malware.

In any case, if Vista would have passed Symantec’s tests, proving that the premature OS is more secure than its previous versions, the company would surely not have expressed positive criticism about it. This mixes with the recommendations about the Mac OS X and it is supposed that competition between these two computing titans intensifies with every step.

Taking up Symantec’s test again, it was also known that the network connection technology of Windows Vista presents less stability than usual due to the substitution of the old code for a more recent one and the incorporation of other functions.
