It is usual for obese children to suffer from pain in the legs, hip or knees, difficulty to move and fractures. Those children that have muscular and bone pain tend not to share the sports at school and to see the physical activity without taking part of it.

* They suffered from fractures 4.5 more times than usual.

* They have muscular and bone pain 4 times more than usual.

* They suffer from discomfort in the knees in a 6,6% more than children with normal weight.

The most usual phrases heard from children at the time of performing physical activities were the ones that follow:

“I feel clumsy”

“I have difficulties when trying to use the hips

“I cannot get up from the chair easily”

These undergone complaints are the ones that influence the risk of fractures, because as the body balance is incorrect, the possibilities of strongly falling increase without padding the falling down.


The first thing that must be done is to try to encourage them to perform physical activities together with cycling or swimming. These activities are the ones that will help them to hold the load of their body.
