High levels of carbohydrates may develop cataract
ImageA recent scientific research has confirmed that high-carbohydrate consumption increases the possibilities of developing a certain type of cataract.  The research was carried out among women aged between 53 and 73.
According to the research, when faulty proteins start to accumulate inside one or both eyes, a cloudy area known as cataract starts forming.

This suffering, cataracts, is the main reason for blindness in the world.

The analysed women had a daily average consumption of 200 to 268 grams of carbohydrates. So, their possibilities of developing cortical cataracts increase 2.5 times.  The risk decreases enormously in those women who present a limited daily consumption of 100 to 185 grams of carbohydrates.

Carbohydrates are found mainly in sugar and starch, the body converts them into glucose to feed cells.

This potential damage in your crystalline lens is due to a high-carb intake, which results from increased exposure of normal proteins of crystalline to glucose.
